I'm listening to Jake play with the boys and their new toys. Sawyer
was apparently pointing at Jake's torso because I hear the following:
J: Don't point it at my face!
S: I wasn't, I was pointing it at your boobies.
J: Should you be pointing it at my boobies?
S: No? But it looks like I'm pointing at your face from your angle but I'm not.
J: Ok, but you should not be pointing it at my boobies. I don't want
you to shoot at my boobies.
Seriously, I've never heard "boobies" used so much in such a short
time span! Lol.
Sawyer is brilliant. I am not ashamed to point that out because anyone who talks with him for five seconds will know this. So, I thought I would log some of his sayings... hence "Sawyerisms".

Wedding Boy
Sawyer just asked me "Mom, do you think I'll be a good wedding boy?"
Me: Like Chad? (Our friend who just married my best friend)
Sawyer: Yes.
Me: Yes, I do.
He's asking me if I think he'll make a good groom some day.
Inwholeheartedly think he will! I love him and that girl who wins his
heart better deserve him.

Sawyer Reading to Dempsey at Bed Time
Sawyer's reading skills are fabulous. He was eager to read Handy Manny's Motorcycle Adventure to Dempsey. Sweet big brother!
Reading Alphabetical Insect Book
Sawyer was given this booj for Christmas. He LOVES it. We have spent hours reading it. Thankfully it's only 26 insects long.
Fun at Disneyland
Our last time to play at Disneyland for a really long time. It was a long and fun day!

My Sweet Boy

Such a sweet, caring boy!

His Thoughts
My Sawyer wants to grow up too fast! Tonight during bed time he was
saying that he didn't know what he wants to do when he grows up. I
told him he shouldn't be worrying or thinking about that because he
has plenty of time to decide.
While we were having that conversation he told me a story that
Granddad shared with him. It was a simple story about Granddad eating
a really messy taco for lunch one day while he was at work. I never
would have thought he would have remembered that story let alone been
able to retell it almost exactly like Granddad had told him.
Then as I was telling him my last "I love yous" for the night he
looked at me and said "I never thought a perfect mommy would appear".
Seriously, this kid melts my heart!
As I was fixing to leave his room for the night I turned on his stars,
started his white noise and he called me back. He said "There is
something I want to do for you." So I went back over to his bedside
and he gently pulled my glasses off my face, puffed warm air on them,
and wiped them on his pajama shirt as if to clean them. He then
slipped them gently back on my face.
What a gift from Heaven!!

A Rough Day
My poor Sawyer. Today we woke him up a little after 7am because he had
a basketball game at 8am this morning. Jake took Sawyer and Dempsey
and I went after I finished getting ready.
When I got to the game I couldn't find Jake on the bleachers. I
finally saw him sitting with Sawyer on the team chairs. Sawyer was
crying. Jake appeared to be consoling him.
Eventually they both came over to me at the bleachers. I had been
informed by my dad and a few other parents that Sawyer had collided
with a team mate and gotten the raw end of the deal. When I saw him I
noticed he had a FAT lip. Poor guy.
He came and laid in my arms. Shed a few tears. Explained a little of
what happened. I held him the rest of the game. He decided togo down
and give end of game high-fives. I went down and realized he was the
one praying for everyone and the day. Precious boy.
When we got home I rubbed some wintergreen/ coconut oil on his neck to
help the sore muscles. I didn't want him to get super stiff.
He still stiffened up, unfortunately. So, I rubbed some more oil on
his neck and then we put an ice pack on his neck to help with
inflammation.
He has good spirits and energy but has limited motion when it comes to
tilting his head to the right toward his shoulder. :-( We will watch
it today, keep massaging with oils, stretching and see how he does.
