Sawyer is brilliant. I am not ashamed to point that out because anyone who talks with him for five seconds will know this. So, I thought I would log some of his sayings... hence "Sawyerisms".

Pondering from A Young Mind and Big Heart
What can I do- get presents or give water?
I don't know, that is completely up to you.
But it's so hard, they're both fun. Maybe I'll just do both.

Never Fails
I love my (our) Sawyer. I live his heart. I love his faith.
Tonight we went out with family and friends to Thai Table. It was a
great way to break up the birthday party preparations and hand off the
boys to my folks for the Saturday night sleepover ritual.
After dinner the boys were getting into my parent's car. Sawyer yells
across the parking lot "DON'T FORGET TO SAY A PRAYER FOR ME!!"
I yelled back "Do you want me to text one or will you call me?"
"I'll call you."
"Ok."
At 10pm I opted to text my parents and have Sawyer call me so I could
pray for him. He called. We chatted. I prayed. We hung up.
Such a simple thing overwhelms my heart with gladness and, to be real,
a little pride. For Sawyer gets it. He gets that prayer works. That
God is accessible ALWAYS. That we can pray for anything, give thanks
for everything- yes, even the Wii, and that prayer works.
I pray over him just about every night and when I don't do it Jake or
whoever he is with does. These moments are powerful. In so many ways I
am touched by his desire to pray and his faith in prayer.
I just pray he will always be a man of prayer and a warrior with that
weapon of good.
